Fireworks cause pets to go astray


AROUND THE STATE THE BUSY WEEKEND AT ALBUQUERQUE ANIMAL SHELTERS CONTINUES TODAY AS MORE PETS SCARED OFF BY FIREWORKS ARE BROUGHT IN A SHELTER SPOKESMAN SAYS THE CITY HAS TAKEN IN NEARLY 130 ANIMALS SO FAR THIS WEEKEND ABOUT 40 OF THOSE ANIMALS SHOWED UP TODAY -- BUT OFFICIALS SAY THAT NUMBER WILL LIKELY GO UP BEFORE THE SHELTERS CLOSE THIS EVENING ANIMAL WELFARE OFFICIALS THEY TAKE IN ANYWHERE FROM 50 TO 100 ANIMALS ON ANY GIVEN
